All about Chatsworth House’s brand new adventure playground

As a glamping site located in the rural Derbyshire village of Holmesfield, just outside the Peak District National Park, Chatsworth is often a popular destination for our guests here at Secret Wood.

Earlier this year, Chatsworth unveiled their brand new adventure playground – much to our (and our guests’) excitement. So, we thought we’d share the good news and put together a short blog on what exactly Chatsworth’s new playground offers, as well as some useful information on prices, parking and accessibility.

About Chatsworth House

Chatsworth is a popular stately home situated within the Peak District, North Derbyshire. Founded in the 1500s and owned by the Devonshire (Cavendish) family for almost 5 centuries, Chatsworth holds an immense amount of English and royal history – with Prince William even staying there on work experience in his younger years!

Although once privately kept, Chatsworth is now open for the public to explore the famed gardens, farmyard, home, cafe and farm shop – making it a pretty ideal day out for visiting families, couples and groups of friends.

Chatsworth’s new playground

Chatsworth reopened their newly refurbished playground in April this year. As part of a year-long refurbishment programme for activities and events at Chatsworth, this new playground follows a theme of ‘Celebrating Childhood’.

With a secret tunnel, large sand play area, zip wire, climbing wall, swings and a ginormous wood-pecker feature (because why not?), this new playground has really been worth the wait.

What’s more, the playground also has a coffee hut and a picnic area for parents and carers to relax and enjoy a brew whilst the kids have fun.
